Sotiris Adamidis MD, PhD is the Director of Internal Medicine Department in Athens Medical Center, President of the European Society of Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity (ESoDiMeSO). He is a well publicized author in both the lay press and medical journals. He received his medical degree from Athens University, School of Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine with special interest in metabolism, diabetes, obesity and related conditions. He is on the editorial board of a number of journals. He is invited as key medical expert in numerous TV channels, often seen and heard commenting on health matters across news. Especially during pandemic he had presence on regular basis both on TV and social media on matters of COVID-19. He writes regularly for newspapers and magazines. Adding to his online presence, Sotiris Adamidis is an expert medical contributor to popular health sites, such as Iatropedia and T-life.
He has communicated the LDL-particles knowledge in Europe, and its important role in treating appropriately patients with hypercholesterolemia. He is the co-author of the book along with Sofia Adamidi Obesity, Metabolic Syndrome, and Diabetes.
