The Upper Side of the World

The Upper Side of the World is a novel. A biography of a person and a place, a life full of storms and calms in Santorini and Piraeus, yesterday and today. A life indissolubly bound up with the sea, shipping and seamanship: from the sails of the schooner, to the Liberty Ships as indemnity for the War: from neighborhood gatherings on the Island, to travels into Europe.

Η Καδιώ Κολύμβα, πρωτοδημοσιεύει το 1968, την ποιητική συλλογή «Nocturna». Το 1985 αρχίζει τη συνεργασία της με την Πολιτιστική Εταιρεία «Πανόραμα», δημοσιεύοντας στο περιοδικό της Εταιρείας και δίνοντας διαλέξεις με θέματα την πρωτοχριστιανική Ανατολή και την ισλαμική λογοτεχνία. Την ίδια εποχή ξεκινάει να μεταφράζει το μεγάλο ποιητικό έργο του Πέρση ποιητή, Τζελαλαντίν Ρουμί. Ia Santorini novel. Το 1991 κυκλοφορεί την ποιητική της συλλογή «Εικόνες από την Έρημο», Εκδόσεις Πανόραμα. Η πάνω μεριά του κόσμου. Το 1995 στον Εκδοτικό οίκο «Αρμός», δημοσιεύει μια ακόμα ποιητική συλλογή με τίτλο «Πανδοχείο Πουλιών» και την ίδια χρονιά στη σειρά «Μούσες» του «Αρμού», κυκλοφορεί η μετάφραση του βιβλίου «Ο Αγαπημένος». Τα 90 από τα 1791 τετράστιχα (Ρουμπαγιάτ) του Τζελαλαντίν Ρουμί από το έργο «Ο Ήλιος της Ταυρίδας». Με εκτενή εισαγωγή για τον ποιητή και το έργο του.
